Floral Maxi

Dress: Miss Selfridges Sandals: Bullfrogs

Summer 2011 stands for the return of the maxi dress. The maxi dates back to centuries ago, only modern fashion celebrates it more so now than ever before. With all the denim shorts, chiffon dresses and pretty playsuits taking centre stage in several of the high-street stores, one would think that the maxi dress would be a thing of the past. Well we have to bow to the understated look of the maxi and long lasting impact it has had on today's fashion. To add to it's versatility, it seems you know longer have to be of supermodel height to wear the maxi. Women of under 5'3 are sporting the maxi trend and if you ask me, it is a breathe of fresh air. How can one deny an average sized women the chance to wear something so elegant and effortlessly chic. They say the maxi is more flattering on the slim, tall women...in the world of catwalk. But if you ask me, it's all about the person who's wearing it; how they wear it and more importantly, how much confidence they bring with them.

I decided to wear my flat sandals today as I felt  the maxi was a statement piece in itself. Let the maxi do the talking. My love for the chic bun lives on especially when wearing such a statement piece. My lipstick is a change too; it's a red rouge colour from Sleek.

This pictures were taken in Richmond today, beside the river. What a beautiful hot and sunny day. :)

Please feel free to comment beauties.
