Gucci Spring/Summer 2011 collection

The runway at milan fashion week was blinding our eyes with block colour. From tangerine to a hue of bright blues - every new collection that took to the stage was bright. bold and eccentric. But Gucci was way up there. Frida Giannini promised sophisticated seduction for her Gucci show - and she didn't fail to astound us with here steady eye for fashion and styling. The collection puts us in the mood for high voltage italian fashion action.

An array of colours were gliding down the runway. Green, turquoise, purple and orange - for grown-up skirts or tapered silk trousers worn with slippery, loosely knotted tops that were belted in stiff metallic gold at the waist had a richness reminiscent of Yves Saint Laurent , though long glossy blazers relieved the Eighties, particularly when combined with drop - crotched harem pants.

Then the colour faded away to a nude set of pale linens, leathers and suedes that were ladylike and luxurious and made us think of safari living.

Gucci is definitely going to be hot this season - and the collection is to die for. I for one, have envisioned my new spring/summer wardrobe as a more brighter, daring, risky and Gucci inspired one. Bring on the debit card I say!!

Are you as crazy about the Gucci Spring/Summer collection as me?

Oh Heavenly Hair!

Babyliss Thermo-Ceramic Rollers
As we gear ourselves up for the summer, it seems a hair trend is evolving. Effortless waves. This spring/summer, hair is big, bold and eccentric. Whether you want to go for sexy waves or fourties waves, it seems either one is likely to give you the statement look. Roll on the summer eh?

Unless you are blessed with naturally wavy locks, it can be a pain to try and create effortless waves. However, I have stumbled across the perfect syling product to do just that. The Babyliss Thermo-Ceramic Roller: it's a clever contraption that heats individual rollers in just a matter of seconds. In the process, the rollers still feel cool, but due to their inner copper core they heat gradually from the inside out as they are placed on your hair.

Luckily for us, that means, no burnt fingers, or hair. After 20 minutes, your hair will be wavy perfection.

Me in action ;)

street style 2

                                                                 Photography by me
We have a bit of fetish for S/S11 and Charlotte seems to have used her inspiration from Haute Couture and embezzled it into street style.

Galliano is just one of the fashion players whose designs have been setting our eyes alight with bold brights, graphic prints and frivolous couture. Michael Kors's label - known for it's clean elegance has too been parading down the catwalks. As we watch the fashion shows on Vogue T.V, I can only imagine that we all claw our stomaches, in hope that our gob-smacked expression will not make us look like more of the homebound dog than the fashion lover.

So as soon as I saw this outfit, it became apparent to me that Charlotte had deviated away from being a devoted couture girl. Instead, she had brought her own high-street twist to couture. She teams a trusty leather jacket with a faux fur collar, while celebrating the key trend for summer/spring 2011 with her bold printed, safari-detailed blouse.

Charlotte wears her denim hot pants well with opaque tights to dissemble her from showing off too much flesh. She seems to be working several key trends here in just the one outfit.

So while many people have upped the ante by deviating away from the norm and wearing faux fur coats pre spring, (me, haha), others have stayed true to form in the exact way Charlotte has. Her outfit is on trend with a concoction of graphic prints - and she works the 70s trend revival with the wedged open-toe sandals.

Her stachel yet again keeps her fashion forward as it is both stylish and on-trend. The brown colour sits well with her camel wedges and the safari prints on her blouse.

Whether her style choice was thought up subconsciously or not, it appears that the stylista paid specific detail to layers mid getting ready. Her bright spring/Summer has been ravamped with a biker-chick jacket. All-in-all she accentuates the beauty of mixing clothing pieces together which would on any normal occasion fill up two separate shelves. She creates a rebellious outfit which is far from offending.

Street Style 1

These two girls were snapped on my way to uni. The stylish two-some are immensely stylish. what is even more striking is how different but very similar these two looks are. They contrast in the sense that Lizzy (right) creates an undertone feel, a more understated look which pervails effortless style, while  Charlotte(Right) has a similar look, only hers has a stronger feel to it; it's more of a statement look and has a bold embrace to it.

Both girls appear to have quite an edgy style - almost rocker-chick if you like. Their attention to detail is what allows their looks to come off so polished. Lizzy's, fiery red hair for instance, compliments her luggage material, as does her tiger print cool tee. The 10 denier tights and black boots ensures that there is nothing to take away from her strking hair colour and upper body attire. Might I add that her choice of hair colour is a compliment to her rosy, slightly paler skin tone.

Charlotte's satchel is uber stylish, ever since Alexa Chung put her fashion stamp in the world of mulberry, and bacame an inspiration to their satchel designed primitive bags. Her satchel trademark worked wonders. Who knows? Charlotte might be next. Green and brown is always a good match, and the velvet leggings are oh-so-cool. The slighly beige wedges brighten up the darker tones to the outfit and sit well with the sunny weather conditions. I'm loving her burgundy hair too.

In the eyes of a budding fashionista, this is street syle at its best. Look forward to several more style posts in the future.

Thanks for reading my beauties.

Chic, Elegant & Sophisticated

Chic, elegant and sophisticated are the three words that spring to mind. I plan to wear these beauties on a night out with the girls in Soton. The platforms will be worn with the leather dress I purchased from H&M a few days ago; it is a body-con masterpiece. The dress is actually a bandeau and so the lack of sleeves and the figure indulging shape, which has been made possible, due to the static leather is enough to leave a dance room floor contaminated with dribble.

Ahh, but seriously have you seen the shoes? I am damaging my bank account by the second, but as I saw these beauties perched on the shoe display in Bank I just couldn't help myself. The footwear, so eminently beautiful is Kitsh couture and a limited edition, so if you want to bag a pair of these heavenly devils, I suggest you get down to your nearest Bank(as in the shop, just in case you was thinking Halifax, ha) and feel as stunning as I do in couture.
